The Los Angeles Music Center is hosting a talent search for high school students involved in the performing arts.

The seventh annual “The Music Center Spotlight Awards,” sponsored by the Telesis Foundation, is open to Southern California high school students involved in ballet, jazz or modern dance, opera, musical theater or pop vocal, classical and jazz instrumental music.

Event organizers expect more than 600 students to audition in October and November for the Spotlight awards. Only 15 students will be selected for the semifinals. The students will train in master classes with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Music Center Opera and other professionals.
