THOUSAND OAKS : Woman Robbed in Mall Parking Lot

A Thousand Oaks woman was robbed of her wedding ring and other jewelry Monday afternoon in The Oaks mall parking lot by a man who threatened her with a metal object against her neck.

Chris Ann Wells, 31, ran to the Bullocks department store after the assailant took her wedding ring, watch and diamond bracelet at about 12:45 p.m. at 222 W. Hillcrest Drive, sheriff’s deputies said.

Sgt. Ron Tusi said the suspect, believed to be in his 20s, approached Wells from behind while she was standing at the open driver-side door of her car. The man put a metal object against the back of her neck, Tusi said, while telling her to hand over her jewelry.

She did and he fled north on foot through the parking lot, toward Hillcrest Drive, Tusi said.

The man, who eluded authorities despite an extensive search, was described as having blond hair and wearing a green flannel shirt, with a tattoo of barbed wire on his right wrist, Tusi said.
