MacDonald and Curtis Lead Southland Regattas

Canada’s Ross MacDonald sailed from fifth place on the last two legs to win the second race of the 73rd Star class world championship at San Diego and take the overall lead Monday. In the Etchells world championship at Newport Harbor, Dave Curtis of Marblehead, Mass., finished second to Howard Ferguson of Chicago to remain the overall leader.
