AmeriQuest Technologies Inc.: The company’s shareholders have approved the acquisition of Kenfil Inc., the companies announced Tuesday.

Kenfil, based in Van Nuys, and AmeriQuest, based in Irvine, are both distributors of computer hardware.

AmeriQuest completed the acquisition Tuesday by purchasing 48.1% of Kenfil’s common stock. The company had purchased 51.9% of Kenfil’s stock earlier this year and is now the sole owner. AmeriQuest said it spent more than $8 million acquiring Kenfil’s operations.

All of Kenfil’s operations have been relocated to AmeriQuest’s headquarters, and the number of Kenfil employees has been reduced from 170 to fewer than 30. AmeriQuest has kept all of Kenfil’s sales and marketing staff, however.
