New Headquarters: Disc Manufacturing Inc., the compact disc maker, has bought a new headquarters building in Anaheim for $7.1 million and plans to add 90 employees by next June, company officials said.
The publicly traded firm, which now has 170 employees, is moving to a 220,000-square-foot building on 14 acres at 3400 E. La Palma Ave. Voit Commercial Brokerage represented both the buyer and the seller--Rockwell International Corp.
“This new facility will allow us to increase both our manufacturing capabilities and our personnel,” said Tom Brown, general manager of Disc Manufacturing’s Anaheim plant. “We looked out of state, but we decided to stay in Anaheim because this is where our employees are, and they are our best asset.”
DMI makes 44,000 compact discs a day and expects to double that output by mid-1995. The company, which occupies 30,000 square feet at 1120 Cosby Way in Anaheim, expects to complete its move by late November.
