All in the family: Edison receiver Mike Ogas, son of Rancho Santiago College football Coach Dave Ogas, scored the Chargers’ first touchdown of the season in a 35-28 season-opening victory over Corona del Mar Friday.

Ogas capped Edison’s first drive of the game with a 28-yard scoring reception from Patrick Markovsky, who had three touchdown passes. The Chargers rolled up more than 430 yards of total offense.

Ogas continues the Rancho Santiago-Orange County high school connection. Rancho Santiago football assistant, Tom Shine, had two children, Jamie and Casey, who were recent multi-sport standouts at El Modena High.
