SCHOOL DAYS: President Clinton will be back in the Valley this Sunday. The White House says Clinton will visit Pierce College in Woodland Hills at 3 p.m. to discuss job-training programs. Before that, he’ll be greeted at Los Angeles International Airport by a group that will include the “Earthquake Kids” of the national champion Northridge Little League team and the Academic Decathlon champs from Taft High School (B1). . . . Clinton has been here several times before, including a 1993 visit to Valley College in Van Nuys.

MOVIE MADNESS: Local moviegoers may soon have a lot more choices. The number of screens in and around Woodland Hills could jump from 16 to 50 (Valley Life, Page 10). . . . A recent non-scientific survey found that about 70% of West Valley residents saw one or more movies in a three-month period.

BLUES KING: Universal CityWalk is welcoming B.B. King (above) to its funky street scene. The legendary king of the blues guitar has opened a nightclub and cafe offering live entertainment and cuisine from the Mississippi Delta (Valley Life, Page 7). . . . Riley B. King was born 69 years ago today in Indianola, Miss.

PUCK STOPS HERE: The Valley has a major league team. That would be the L.A. Kings, who practice at the Iceoplex in North Hills. Some of the workouts are open to the public. Tickets, at $5, are available for practices through the middle of next week. The Iceoplex’s Julianna Kenny says each workout has been drawing about 50 fans. . . . DANCE OF HOPE: Crowded together in a small San Fernando church classroom, they dance the folklorico steps of their ancestors. They are members of Hope in Youth, a community-based program that aims to keep kids out of gangs (B1). . . . The program hopes to snare some of the $7 billion in crime-prevention funds signed into law Tuesday by President Clinton.
