GARDEN GROVE : Drainage Work to Impede Traffic

Share

Southbound traffic on Magnolia Street between Westminster and Bestel avenues will be reduced to one lane beginning this week until January because of improvements to the area’s drainage system.

The construction will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes during these hours.

Parking in the area will be restricted, but access to businesses and residences along the construction area will be maintained, officials said.

City Engineer Bill Patapoff said that a storm drain is being constructed to prevent flooding at the Magnolia-Bestel intersection.

The $889,000 project includes installation of concrete pipes, catch basins and street work at the intersection, Patapoff said.
