Company Town : MTV’s McGrath Draws Up a New Players List

A long-rumored shake-up at MTV has finally happened, with Judy McGrath, recently appointed sole president of the music channel, naming a new executive team and reorganizing the music departments.

Rich Eigendorff was named executive vice president, business operations, and Doug Herzog was named executive vice president, production and programming.

In addition, John Cannelli was named to the new job of senior vice president, music program development. Andy Schuon will work as senior vice president, music and programming, and Van Toffler will be senior vice president, program enterprises and business development. McGrath also named Abby Terkuhle senior vice president, creative director.

* Viacom’s Fred Schneier was elected to a two-year term as vice chairman of the American Film Marketing Assn.

* Bruce J. Sallan is the new executive producer for drama and specials at New World Entertainment. Karen Danaher-Dorr was named senior vice president of motion pictures and miniseries.

* Caroline Andoscia has joined Lawrence Gordon Productions as a supervisor of creative development.

* Castle Rock Entertainment named Melissa Hufjay and Shannon Clark as publicists, and David Blasucci was promoted to senior administrator of publicity services.

* Barry Staff has been appointed vice president, publicity for Saban Entertainment.

* Miramax Films named Janet Hill to vice president, West Coast publicity, and Teri Kane to vice president, publicity in New York.

* Jeffrey M. Freedman joined the law firm of Sinclair Tenenbaum Olesiuk in the motion picture and television area.

* Ricki L. Seidman is the new executive director of the music industry’s Rock the Vote organization.

* Atlantic Records named rock producer Dave Jerden as a vice president.
