PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL
Phil Simms said he will listen to offers from Arizona Cardinal Coach Buddy Ryan or anybody else who wants him to return to the NFL as a quarterback. He just hasn’t had any offers yet.
Simms’ agent confirmed Friday that Arizona had called to talk about his client, but David Fishof said no offer had been made.
“I still don’t know anything, and I still haven’t talked to anybody from out there,” Simms said from Franklin Lakes, N.J. “If somebody wants to contact me, I will listen.”
Simms, who was not offered a contract by the New York Giants this season, said he hadn’t spoken with his agent Friday, but “he told me they were going to talk, so I assume they have. I just don’t know at this point.”
