Two men were robbed at gunpoint in separate incidents in Simi Valley and Moorpark, authorities said Saturday.

In the Simi Valley incident, John Huecker, 29, was struck on the head as he slept and was then kidnaped from his home in the 3300 block of Felix Avenue about 2 a.m. Friday, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.

The two assailants, both armed with handguns, ordered Huecker to drive them to the Box Canyon area of Simi Valley, where they handcuffed him to an abandoned trash truck, authorities said.

After taking Huecker’s boots, wallet with about $400 in cash and the keys to his house and car, the men left in Huecker’s car, authorities said. One of the men fired the gun toward the handcuffed Huecker but missed him, deputies said.

Huecker was able to free himself at daylight and then walked to a nearby residence. He was not injured during the incident, deputies said.

In Moorpark, Emilio Espinoza Anaya was robbed about noon Friday, Moorpark deputies said. Anaya was walking on Pointdexter Avenue when he was approached by a woman who said she was in pain and needed help. A man who deputies said was posing as a priest approached from across the street and offered to assist the woman.

The priest and the woman led Anaya toward an isolated area, where two men suddenly approached from behind and forced Anaya to the ground, authorities said. While the men held a gun to Anaya, the man posing as a priest took Anaya’s money and jewelry, estimated at about $500, authorities said.
