Consumer Reports’ Rates Atlases

Consumer Reports recently road tested six U.S. road atlases, rating Rand McNally the highest, based on accuracy, portability, completeness and ease of use. Next came AAA, Mobil, Gousha, American Map Corp. and Hammond, in that order. Some tips on road atlas buying: Look for the newest edition, and don’t expect perfection--all the atlases tested had some errors, alas.
