San Diego-based PS Group Inc. said Chairman Charles E. Rickershauser Jr. was elected chief executive to succeed George M. Shortley, who submitted his resignation as president and CEO, effective Oct. 1. Shortley has advised the fuel distribution and aircraft leasing company that he intends to pursue other business interests, and resigned as a director. Rickershauser said the position of president has been eliminated and the board of directors has been reduced from seven members to six. Rickershauser said the company will operate with a limited administrative staff.
