CYPRESS : Anti-Pornography Seminar Scheduled
Grace Church is sponsoring a two-day, anti-pornography seminar Sunday and Monday. It is free and open to the public.
The sessions, at 5100 Cerritos Way, are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Janet La Rue, of the National Law Center for Children and Families, will be among the speakers.
The Rev. Ron Jackson, one of the church’s pastors, said the seminar reflects a growing concern about “the spread of pornography throughout our local communities.”
He said City Council members have been invited to attend.
“Pornography has a devastating effect on the men who purchase such materials,” Jackson said. “Women and children are usually the victims of pornography, either through the debased pictures and stories in such material, or worse yet, through the acting out of such behavior upon our wives and children.
“Our families need the protection of the laws of our land as well as an informed body of community leaders.”
Grace Church is a nondenominational Christian congregation.
