Irvine Sensors Names Lian as CEO

Kenneth T. Lian has been appointed chief executive of Irvine Sensors Corp., succeeding Chairman James Alexiou, who has formed an office of the chairman. Lian also joins the board of directors, filling a vacant slot. Lian is president and chief operating officer of the Costa Mesa computer electronics and infrared devices company. He joined Irvine Sensors as director of engineering and manufacturing in 1981 after being a product line manager at a Hughes Aircraft Co. subsidiary. He became Irvine Sensors’ chief operating officer in 1986 and president in 1992.

In addition, John J. Stuart Jr., chief financial officer and treasurer, has been appointed an advisory member of the board. Stuart joined Irvine Sensors in 1983 as its manager of special projects and communications after having been president of The Business Group, a consulting company. He became Irvine Sensors’ chief financial officer and treasurer in 1985.
