Church and State Aren’t Separated
This letter is in response to the article “Church Group Will Rename Voter’s Guide” (Oct. 14).
I think it unfortunate that you would have someone reporting on such an important issue who is so biased in her beliefs that she cannot accurately report details.
Citizens have an inherent right to be informed on issues that will have an impact upon them and their families. The sole purpose of the group putting together the voter’s guide is to survey the local candidates and report the results of that survey so the voters can be informed about the positions of the individuals running for various offices.
Those who viciously oppose this being done only show their ignorance of the issue and their lack of maturity. Claiming to be “open-minded,” they have clearly demonstrated that they are anything but.
Christians who are concerned about the rapidly downward spiral of our nation need to remember to pray for our nation and for those individuals whose eyes are blinded to the truth of God’s word.
