MONTEREY PARK : Grant to Allow Police to Buy Radar Units
The Police Department was recently awarded an $18,425 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The money will be used to purchase eight hand-held radar devices for the department’s traffic bureau. Two of the devices will be used by the department’s patrol force at targeted locations with speed problems.
The department applied for the grant in April and was required to submit a proposal outlining how the money would be used.
