WESTLAKE : Community to Hear Redevelopment Plan

Share

The Los Angeles Department of City Planning has invited local residents, property and business owners to an open house Wednesday on proposed changes to the Westlake community redevelopment plan.

Amendments to the plan, adopted by the city in 1974, are being considered because the area is now one of the city’s most densely populated.

They involve down-zoning some of Westlake’s residential areas to relieve population density, said Jim Tokunaga, a planning associate with the department.

Draft documents on the proposed changes will be available to the public, and presentations will be made by city staff at 5 and 7 p.m.

Staff will also be available to answer questions and listen to recommendations from the community.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Esperanza Elementary School, 689 Little St.
