Canon Computer Systems Inc.: The firm on Monday introduced a new color printer for personal computers that will be sold with two new programs to help users select different colors and letter fonts.

The printer and software, which will sell for less than $500, are aimed at both business and personal users, said Peter Bergman, Canon’s vice president of marketing.

One of the programs will allow users to choose colors for invitations based on the type of occasion, such as Thanksgiving or New Year’s, and the setting of the event, such as evening or formal. The other will help users choose fonts for envelopes, greeting cards and stationery.
