CERRITOS : $8-Million Expansion of Towne Center OKd
The City Council has approved plans to expand the popular Cerritos Towne Center.
About 80,000 square feet of retail space will be added to the complex between the Artesia Freeway and Towne Center Drive. La Canada-based Sport Chalet Inc. and Home Express, a Hayward-based housewares retailer, have plans to open stores on the 6.3-acre site.
Phoenix-based Vestar Development, which built the existing retail strip, is expected to begin the $8-million project by December, said City Manager Art Gallucci.
