The Fieldstone Group of Cos.: The largest private home builder in Southern California sold 274 homes during its third quarter, posting sales of $68.4 million, a very slight increase from the same period last year when 282 homes were sold for $68.2 million.

“This is our strongest quarter by far this year and it’s very encouraging,” said Keith Johnson, chief executive officer of Fieldstone. For the first nine months, the company sold 642 homes for $152 million, a drop from the 743 homes sold for revenue of $178.5 million for the same time last year. The Newport Beach-based company does not reveal its level of profits.
