She Gets a Chuckle From Laugh Lines

I have long been a subscriber to The Times and have seen your paper go through a lot of changes over the years. Your recent addition of Laugh Lines is one of the first things I turn to now.

The column is a welcome addition and I often laugh out loud.

I need that at 5:30 a.m. before I set out to teach 34 fifth-graders. Thanks.

The morning’s news of murder, mayhem and various examples of man’s inhumanity to man is a depressing way to start the day. But the mood can be brightened by reading your wonderful daily “Laugh Lines,” which features our better side. Rich Tosche’s article about the amazing personal habits of the late Mao Zedong (“If You Want to Follow This Leader, Just Sniff,” Nov. 1) is funny enough to brighten a whole week.
