School Funding
Re “A Fairer Deal on School Funds,” editorial, Nov. 7: The Times is concerned that California gets a fair share of federal education dollars based on our growing number of disadvantaged students.
What about a fair share for all California kids? Whatever happened to the Serrano decision that mandated equal expenditures per student? Is this a battle that has already been lost?
The feds have been giving us extra money for disadvantaged kids for 30 years but their numbers keep growing. It’s time to admit that money is not solving the problem. It’s time to spend this money on all our kids.
