Tips on Entering Japan’s Medical Markets: Executives of Orange County’s medical research and development companies and other medical industry entrepreneurs will gather Tuesday at University of California, Irvine to get tips on breaking into Japan’s $243-billion medical market. Guest speakers will include Kiyomi Saito, a private consultant based in Tokyo who specializes in helping foreign businesses penetrate Japanese markets. Saito has experience in unraveling Japan’s sometimes mysterious distribution system, having held positions there with Sony Corp., BankAmerica Corp. and Elizabeth Arden. The seminar will be held at UCI’s Beckman Center from 9 to 11 a.m. Sponsors are the Los Angeles-based Japan External Trade Organization, the Commerce Department, the California Office of Export Development and the Southern California District Export Council.
