THOUSAND OAKS : Business Burglaries Under Investigation

Share

Sheriff’s deputies in Thousand Oaks are investigating a series of commercial burglaries that occurred early Monday, when someone broke into three businesses and tried to burglarize a fourth.

Sgt. Larry Meyers of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said the thief or thieves used an unknown object to pry open the front doors of three businesses within a few blocks of each other between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Monday.

“They were all around in that time window and it looks like the same method was used to get in,” Meyers said. “So we think they might be related.”

Meyers said the burglaries occurred at the Chevron gas station on Moorpark Road; Southern Fitness Workout, 280 N. Moorpark Road; Quick Print Plus, 360 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.; and Cinnamon Rolls Etc., 1625 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The burglar or burglars forced their way into the Chevron station and the fitness center, breaking into the registers and stealing small amounts of cash, Meyers said. But nothing was taken from the Quick Print Plus store, he said.

Signs of an attempted break-in were apparent at the bakery, but no one got inside the store, Meyers said. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 494-8200.
