Golfer Met Bias

Share

I was in your area the week of Nov. 1 attending the Institute of Real Estate Management conference. I booked a tee time at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course for Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 9:30 a.m. for nine holes of golf. I thought everything was in order. I was mistaken. I had to deal with a discouraging humiliation known as prejudiced treatment toward women.

As soon as I arrived at the golf course (I) became painfully aware that women were not welcome to use the course with the men during the morning hours. My treatment and the stall tactics they utilized at the check-in desk left a taste that I will not soon forget and will relay to my associates in the field of real estate throughout the country. I was intentionally delayed from my scheduled tee time and was eventually turned away from playing the course altogether.

I never thought that this progressive area of the country known as Orange County is still in the dark ages of discrimination.
