Grocers Donate Turkeys to Needy
Fifty low-income families in the San Fernando Valley and Watts will receive turkeys courtesy of community grocers and Assemblyman Richard Katz (D-Sylmar) today.
This will mark the fourth year that Katz has worked with community grocers to secure turkeys for families who might otherwise not be able to afford one for their Thanksgiving dinner table, Katz’s office said.
This year, Certified Grocers will donate the turkeys, which will be evenly divided for distribution to the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the NAACP and Parents of Watts.
