SANTA CLARITA / ANTELOPE VALLEY : Santa Clarita Man Suspect in Rape, Child Molestation
A 40-year-old Santa Clarita man was arrested early Monday for allegedly molesting a young girl and then raping a San Fernando Valley prostitute, authorities said.
Steven Bloomer was arrested on suspicion of rape and kidnap after a prostitute told police that he picked her up and took her to a Santa Clarita location where she saw him molest a girl, about 5 years old, said Detective Bill Looney of the sheriff’s child abuse detail.
The prostitute told police that after he molested the young girl, Bloomer forced the prostitute to perform various sexual acts on him and then raped her, Looney said. The prostitute, whose name was not disclosed, was apparently kept at the location for several hours before she escaped.
The little girl has been placed into protective custody, Looney said.
