Holiday Closings

Thursday is Thanksgiving. The following is a schedule of holiday closings:

* All city, county and state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Federal offices will be closed Thursday, but open Friday.

* County and state courthouses will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* City and county libraries will be closed Thursday and Friday.

* Banks and savings and loans closed Thursday but open Friday.

* Schools: There will be no classes Thursday and Friday; school offices, including those at colleges and universities, will be closed.

* Mail: There will be no mail delivery Thursday, but delivery will resume Friday. All post offices will be closed Thursday, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: There will be no trash pickup by city or county refuse workers Thursday. Trash pickups will be a day late for the rest of the week in unincorporated areas of the county and in most cities, with the exceptions of Anaheim, Brea, Garden Grove, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. In those cities, residents with trash pickup Thursday should put their trash out Friday.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on the holiday schedule Thursday. There will be no dial-a-ride or car-pool services available.

* Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday.
