PASADENA : Mayor Announces She Won’t Seek Reelection
- Share via
Pasadena Mayor Kathryn Nack, saying she wants to spend more time with her family, has announced she will not run for reelection when her second term on the City Council expires in May.
During a news conference last Friday at City Hall, Nack said her retirement has nothing to do with intense infighting sparked by Councilman Isaac Richard, who was censured earlier this month after disrupting a council meeting and failing to heed Nack’s admonishments.
Nack, 70, said the recent birth of a grandson contributed to her decision. She has served on the City Council since 1987 and has been a planning commissioner and a member of the Pasadena Unified School District’s board of education.
