Arco Transportation Names Hazelwood a Senior VP

Mark L. Hazelwood has been appointed senior vice president of pipeline operations for Long Beach-based Arco Transportation Co. Hazelwood, 45, will be responsible for Houston-based Arco Pipe Line Co. and Anchorage-based Arco Transportation Alaska Inc. Arco’s pipeline operations involve transporting crude oil, refined petroleum products, and petrochemicals. Since February, 1994, Hazelwood has been senior vice president of ATC with management responsibility for Alaskan pipeline operations. Arco Transportation is a division of Atlantic Richfield Co., Los Angeles.

* Patrick Courtin has been appointed chairman and chief executive of ComStream Inc. Courtin joined the San Diego-based firm’s parent company, Spar Aerospace Ltd. of Mississauga, Ontario, in March as senior vice president, communications. He keeps that job in addition to his executive responsibilities at ComStream. He succeeds Ron Derry, who continues as ComStream president and chief operating officer, reporting to Courtin. ComStream provides satellite-based communications systems and networks for voice, data, imaging and video uses.

* Alethea Caldwell has joined Managed Health Network Inc. as president and chief operating officer. Before joining the Los Angeles-based managed behavioral health care and employee assistance company, Caldwell was executive vice president of Blue Cross of California.

* CytoProbe Corp. announced the appointment of M. Lee Hulsebus as chairman. Hulsebus, 55, will also retain his current positions as president and chief executive of the company. He succeeds B. Roland Freasier Jr., who remains a member of the board. The San Diego company develops, manufactures and markets specialty medical devices.
