HUNTINGTON BEACH : VFW Post Will Meet for First Time Friday

A new Veterans of Foreign Wars post has been formed in the city. Eligible veterans joining before Feb. 1, 1995, will become charter members of Post 11548.

Starting with more than 80 veterans, members will meet at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month, beginning Friday, in Room B-6 at the Civic Center, 2000 Main St.

Elected to serve as officers of the new post are Gary Shiffman, commander; Robert E. Smith, senior vice commander; Robert Deets Jr., vice commander; Alex P. Pavlin, quartermaster; Earl B. Drabant, advocate; Cecil W. Birnbaum, chaplain; Sam A. Mazzara, surgeon; and Stanley J. Cohen, Gary C. Bean and Raymond J. Calderman, trustees. All live in Huntington Beach.
