General Automation Inc.: The company said Tuesday that it has completed acquisition of a 20,500-square-foot office building in Irvine and will relocate its Anaheim-based operations to the new facility within the next few months.

The company said it is phasing out its manufacturing operations and emphasizing product distribution and information systems development.

General Automation now occupies 25,000 square feet of a manufacturing complex that has substantial energy demands, so the move to an energy-efficient office building is expected to slash operating costs, said Robert Bagby, president and chief executive. All 50 of the company’s Anaheim employees are expected to make the move to Irvine, he said.
