LOS ANGELES : Heidi Fleiss Jurors End 2nd Day of Deliberations
Jurors in the trial of accused Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss wrapped up a second day of deliberating Wednesday without reaching a verdict.
Fleiss, 28, is charged with five counts of pandering and one count of possession of cocaine for sale. She faces up to 11 years behind bars if convicted on all counts.
She was arrested during a police “sting” last year aimed at smashing high-priced call girl operations in the Los Angeles area.
Investigators said Fleiss ran a lucrative business providing women and drugs to well-heeled clients. One of the alleged prostitutes, Samantha Burdette, said she earned between $1,000 and $10,000 a night.
Prosecutor Alan Carter played for jurors secretly recorded conversations between Fleiss and Beverly Hills Police Detective Sammy Lee in which Fleiss apparently agreed to provide women and a small amount of cocaine.
Defense attorneys Anthony Brooklier and Donald Marks maintained their client was the victim of police entrapment.
