Former Vice President Dan Quayle’s health continues to improve after treatment for a blood clot in one lung and he will be released from the hospital Monday, his doctors said Thursday.

“Things look good,” said Pam Perry, spokeswoman for the Indiana University Medical Center. “His doctors said they did a lung scan and things looked much improved.”

Quayle entered the hospital Monday night and is being treated with a blood thinner. Perry said Quayle is spending about half of each day out of bed and “he’s progressing extremely well.”
