Golf Course Greens Fees Increase to Be Considered
The City Council on Tuesday will consider raising greens fees and tournament surcharges at the two municipal golf courses.
Under the plan, H.G. (Dad) Miller and Anaheim Hills golf courses would charge weekend rates on Fridays and would double tournament weekend fees to $10. Friday fees would increase from $11 to $13 for nine holes and from $16 to $22 for 18 holes. The new rates would be effective Jan. 1.
The hikes would contribute about $160,000 to city coffers, according to city staff reports. The two courses, the only city-owned and operated ones in Orange County, generate about $1.5 million for the city.
“The proposal relates to a desire by the council to maximize revenues that come off the courses,” said Chris Jarvi, head of the city’s parks department.
