Metal Post Damages Van as Clinton Returns Home

WASHINGTON — A metal security gatepost popped from the ground unexpectedly as President Clinton returned to the White House from church Sunday, damaging a van in his motorcade.
White House officials said the air bags activated and a window broke, but no one was hurt.
