From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The State Department said the United States is still considering whether to issue a postage stamp commemorating the World War II atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But a Postal Service spokesman said he knew of no review of the decision to issue the controversial stamp, which angered Japan. The stamp, featuring mushroom clouds, reads, “Atomic bombs hasten war’s end, August 1945.” It is one of a sheet of 10 stamps commemorating World War II events to be issued in 1995.
