NEVADA CITY--The historic downtown district dons its holiday garb for a Victorian Christmas. The celebration is throughout the downtown area, 6-9 p.m. Dec. 14 and 21, and 1-5 p.m. Dec. 18. Featured: Carolers, brass bands and other performers; arts and crafts vendors; hay wagon and carriage rides, and visits with Santa. Free. INDIAN WELLS--Ring in 1995 to the sounds of 23 bands and guest artists at the seventh annual New Year’s Jazz at Indian Wells celebration, Dec. 30-Jan. 1. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Gene Harris Quartet and Hadda Brooks are among the headliners at the event, at the Stouffer Esmeralda and the Hyatt Grand Champions resorts.
