Jeanetta Menninger; Widow of Famed Doctor

Jeanetta Lyle Menninger, 93, a journalist and widow of the late Dr. Karl Menninger. Mrs. Menninger was principal of the preparatory school at Central College for Women in Lexington, Mo., in 1923-26. She left education to pursue a career in journalism, first as a reporter for the Utica, N.Y., Daily Press. In 1930, Mrs. Menninger joined the public relations staff at Columbia University, and in 1932 moved to Topeka to assist Menninger--who died in 1990--in writing a monthly column for the Ladies Home Journal. In 1936, she became editor of the Bulletin of the Menninger Clinic, a position she held until she retired in 1970, except for the three years she lived in Los Angeles (1938-41).
