Pacific Scientific Co.: The Newport Beach firm said Monday that it plans to form a new subsidiary and will reassign three divisional presidents to complete the move.
The electrical and safety equipment maker said it will establish Solium Inc. in the Boston area to develop and manufacture electronic ballasts and controls for compact fluorescent lamps as well as other types of lighting products.
These products will begin shipping in mid-1995.
Effective Jan. 3, the president of Solium will be John M. Ossenmacher, 35, previously president of the Fisher Pierce Division in Weymouth, Mass. Steven L. Breitzka, 37, will become president of Fisher Pierce. Previously Breitzka was president of HTL/Kin-Tech Division, with plants in Duarte and Yorba Linda. That job will be assumed by Richard G. Knoblock, 55, who will also maintain his current duties as president of the Electro Kinetics Division in Santa Barbara.
