Kia Strike: Kia Motors America Inc. said that its U.S. operations, based in Irvine, will not be affected by a strike in South Korea. Kia Motors Co. workers there, angered by the South Korean government’s decision to allow Samsung Group to start building automobiles in 1998, walked off the job late last week. The action ended Monday but cost No. 2 Korean car maker Kia about $125 million in lost production.
