Trains, Trees, Candy Canes

Train sets and Christmas trees seem to go together like Santas and candy canes. But with 2,000 feet of train tracks, you know we’re talking holiday celebration on a grand scale.
Old Pasadena is getting into the Christmas spirit with a Winter Wonderland that features train rides for $1, a 25-foot snowman (the inflatable type) and a 15-foot Christmas tree.
A 25-foot-by-45-foot train village, with replicas of Old World European towns professionally lit with theatrical lights, is the centerpiece of the wonderland, along with nine collectors’ edition train sets.
The festivities take place at One Colorado, a courtyard tucked behind brick facades in the middle of Old Town, near Fair Oaks Avenue.
Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Dec. 30. Santa will be on hand Saturday, Sunday and Dec. 23 from noon to 5 p.m. Information: (818) 564-1066.
