Two sailors have been found guilty of sexual harassment and three others will stand court-martial, the Navy said Wednesday as it concluded an investigation into charges that 16 women recruits were harassed by instructors at the Naval Training Center.

Still, Capt. John C. Ensch, commander of the Naval Training Center, said investigators have found no instances of sex being demanded in exchange for grades.

Along with the two male sailors found guilty of sexual harassment, a male sailor and a female sailor were found guilty of not following up reports of sexual harassment.

The four whose punishment was announced yesterday join three others whose punishment had already been announced. All seven of those punished were chief petty officers.

In addition to the three facing sexual harassment charges at court-martial, a fourth will undergo court-martial on a charge of fraternization.

The two sailors found guilty of sexual harassment will each lose a month’s pay and receive punitive letters. Depending on the severity, harassment can lead to a sailor being discharged from the Navy.
