Conservancy’s Plan Warrants Name Change

After reading the L.A. Times article “Ecologist Criticizes Park Tree Planting” (Oct. 22), I propose that the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy change its name.
Considering that it plans to spend more than $2 million planting non-native trees and then spend unlimited amounts of money pumping endless quantities of water to sustain them, I think the conservancy’s name should be changed to the Santa Monica Mountains Spendservancy.
