Local nonprofit organizations providing social services in the city must submit applications by Dec. 30 to be eligible for Community Development Block Grant funds.

The federal government has allocated $75,000 annually to the city for the programs. Eligible organizations must provide services directly to local residents who are defined by the federal government as having low to moderate incomes.

Access to the community grant money is open to nonprofit agencies and organizations that are recognized by the federal and state government. The city also welcomes proposals for new services.
