Credit Delinquency Drops Again: The percentage of Americans behind in their installment loan payments dropped during the third quarter to the lowest level on record, a banking trade group reported. The American Bankers Assn. said bank consumer installment loans more than 30 days delinquent dipped to 1.66% during the July-September period, down from 1.71% during the second quarter and 1.95% a year earlier. The level was the lowest since the group began reporting seasonally adjusted composite ratios for various types of closed-end installment loans in October, 1974.
