BRIEFLY : Education: SMCC Picks New Leaders

The Santa Monica Community College District Board of Trustees has elected a new chair and vice chair.

Patrick Nichelson, who served as chairman in 1989 and 1990, was unanimously elected by his colleagues to serve as chairman for 1995. Annette Shamey, who was elected to the board in 1992, will serve as vice chair.

They will succeed Al Quinn and Colin Petrie, who have retired. The positions are rotated annually. Trustees are elected to serve four years.
