Train Kills Woman Who Lay on Tracks
SAN CLEMENTE —
A 30-year-old San Clemente woman was killed Friday after she curled up in front of a moving Amtrak train, authorities said.
Witnesses watched as the woman, who was not identified pending notification of family, lay down and curled up on the tracks a quarter-mile north of the San Clemente Pier, said Senior Deputy Coroner Richard McAnally.
She was struck by a southbound train at 2:20 p.m., he said. A suicide note was recovered, McAnally said.
