Notre Dame (6-4-1) Didn’t Deserve This

Just how bad would Notre Dame’s record have to be for it not to receive a major bowl bid? Notre Dame, with a 6-4-1 record, will rake in big bucks for its Fiesta Bowl appearance, while more deserving teams such as Alabama (11-1) and Kansas State (9-2) play in lesser bowls.
Notre Dame brings in fans and has a strong football tradition, but this squad has no Gipp or Lujack or Hornung or Montana. Notre Dame’s 1994 team should have had to earn its way to a major bowl the way that every other team in the nation had to.
It damages the integrity of the entire bowl structure, the NCAA and the coalition to show one team such preferential treatment.
